William P. White
Apr 19, 2018White (Bill), 83, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on April 16, 2018. He was born September 13, 1934, to Howard and Ruth White (Hunt). He served in the Air Force from 1954 through 1957. On June 22, 1957, he married Sharon Sue Masters, who survives.He worked as an electrician for the Kokomo Fire Department, and then for Delco Electronics for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He built his own home in western Howard County and enjoyed taking care of his land and tending to his garden. After retirement, he was an avid golf player and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. A longtime member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Bill was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a past Grand Knight. He also drove a school bus for St. Joan of Arc school for twelve years.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, his four children: Kathy Britton, Karen (Craig) Hayes, Steve (Joan) White and Jim (Debbie) White; fourteen grandchildren: Sara (John) Britton Colon, Stephanie Britton, Samantha Britton, Nick Hayes, Billy (Adria), Brendan, Elizabeth, Elena, Catie, Joe, Jakob, Delaney, Jeff, and Jay White; two step grandchildren: Gabe (Lisa) and Seth (Stacy) Hayes, and three great grandchildren: Jackson Colon, Audrey Stover and Oliver White. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Vivian and Jan White, and many nieces and nephews. He was a great family man who will be dearly missed.He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Mary Swihart, Betty White, Joan Snodgrass, Carol Johnson; and four brothers, John, Robert, Richard, and Thomas White.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 W., Kokomo, with Rev. Fr. Matthew Arbuckle the celebrant. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.
